This department is where we can find each other and the land.

What is your advice to first years and sophomores about getting connected to this department?
Visit with us! Talk with people! Go on journeys with us. Making connections and building community is what we do.

What is the most valuable thing you’ve learned at K?
How to learn from and with the land and how important it is to do this.

What has been your favorite class at K? Why?
If we have to choose, we might say one or any of the core CES classes. We would mostly say this because they open us up to learning in all environments. But really, anything that makes us think.

How have you taken advantage of the open curriculum or experienced breadth in your education?
In every way possible, our department promotes learning in all spaces.

What experiential education opportunities have you participated in?
Experiential learning is everything we do.
